S3 Bullet Guides:
I am down to a very small quantity of new
Bullet Guides.
I have recently sorted through the remainder and have available both
new and used, excellent condition. The used bullet guides have been measured and
the dimensions comply with
the Rebuild Standards of 1953. The used bullet guides have not been
refinished. They make a good component for those CMP woodless danes, rack
grades, and service rifles. (Click on Rebuild Standards blue hyper link for
serviceable dimensions).
I may have that hard to find bullet guide you are seeking. Listed below
are some of them.

S44A Pinion Drum, originally known as Knob, Elevating,
Rear Sight.
PHOTO Return to the days of yesteryear, when you could find items new in the
grease, in the original packaging. Recently I found an unopened pack of SA
drums for the WWII Rear Sight Pinion. If you want to build a WWII SA lock bar
sight, here is one of the items.
PHOTO I have only 25 available. When these are gone, they will be gone
forever.

A1 M10 Butt stock Equipment Kit, includes sections,
tip, handle, canvas case, oiler, bore brush and grease
pot. This kit is not one of those reproductions that are flooding the market.
The kit is ideal for use as a portable cleaning kit. It dates to the late
1960's, which includes the grease pot, the late fabric case and M14 short oiler. PHOTO
It also includes the improved post 1962 Handle Assembly (Combo Tool) which is
shown on the right. PHOTO
The early version consists of less than 15% of the surviving surplus tools, but
the internet is full of Chinese imports of the early version. .................

For those that want to dress their rifles with original
1953 thru 1958 vintage cleaning kits, send an email and I will get back to you.
A2 Caliber .30 Bore Brush ...............
$1.25 5/6.00
Many are now selling imported Chinese chamber brushes on the inter-net. The
bristles are lighter and they do not hold up as well to vigorous cleaning. Ask
to see the photos of those claiming to be selling original GI of high quality.
As per my standards of the last 38 years, I sell only USGI:

Note: Several internet sites are shipping M60 chamber brushes, either out of
ignorance or dishonesty. The M60 chamber brush is too long and can leave
bristles in the throat area, effecting accuracy. It is also too long to fit in
the M14's butt stock. Make sure you insist on the proper brush for the
proper job.

A29 Sniper Cheek Pad, Reproduction. This is an old reproduction from
the late 1980's. Produced by Bolen Leather, an old government contractor, this
pad is far better quality than the reproductions made today. To insure that they
would not be passed off as originals, they were produced with white felt inside. Each pad includes
the two brass wood screws. PHOTO

Brookfield Precision Tool Spring Guide, M14 NM. Original BPT production from 1996,
it is hard to believe this item is still in its original wrap from 14 years ago.

Brookfield. This guide was part of the contract specification for the XM25
Sniper Rifle. Without it, you can not build a proper M25 clone. $85.00 plus $10.00

M14 Accessories
B1 Butt stock Equipment Kit. Despite what you may see on web sites, the government never
stores any new material loose, out of wrap.
99% of all kits and cleaning equipment on the inter-net are reproductions from
China. When you see a rod case with B098 marking as part of a cleaning kit, Garand or M14,
99% chance it is a imported fake.
PHOTO
The fact is this marking was used with only 2% of all US GI production, but it
is the easiest to read. Most US GI cases are marked differently and the
markings, if any, are difficult to read. That is why the fakers picked this version.
Each kit I sell has been assembled from original Old Stock:

PHOTO
Oiler, late issue, produced from 1961 thru 1968. Compare it to the
reproduction pictured here.
PHOTO
The reproductions are not bad, but the dimensions are not consistent. Some caps
do not screw all the way in and the bodies are brittle. Unlike US GI, the
reproductions have rubber washers on both caps. The US GI had washers only on
the oil cap and left the washer off the grease cap. In later years
additional oil caps with washers were purchased by the Army to supplement some units putting different
types of oil in both sides, but when you find one, it is almost used and has
lubricants inside.
Each kit comes with the rod sections, bore brush, spacer, and tip,
already packed inside fabric case.........................................

For the advanced M14 collector, you can purchase the above

photo, but it
will be readable and in new condition.

Another item for the advanced M14 collector is the very
early cleaning rod case, called the "Long Neck". This case has a much longer tab
and was designed similar to the M1 Rifle's butt stock rod case from 1956-57. This case
was produced circa 1961-62 and were inside cleaning kits that accompanied rifles
from the SA production line. Production quantities also supported the other rifles
produced by other contractors, but after rifle production ceased, these cases
were never produced again.

B8 M14A1 (M14E2) Maintenance Case. This was the
authorized cleaning equipment case for the squad automatic version of the M14.
Due to the rubber butt pad and the stock's lack of storage holes, the M14A1
required its own special case for the operator's cleaning equipment. The
equipment was stored in within the field gear. Contracted
1968 though 1970. Save money on a complete kit as shown.
